Maybe you love to paint, but don't have a studio. Always wanted to work on a larger canvas, but don't have the space, supplies or confidence to do it at home. Or maybe you're visiting Asheville and want to spend an afternoon actually creating—not just watching someone else do it.

JUST PAINT is a small-group, four-hour intuitive painting workshop held inside artist Elliott From's working studio at Artbeat Gallery & Lounge in downtown Asheville.

This isn't a paint-and-sip. There is no template. There is no predetermined painting. And six people aren't going to leave with six versions of the same picture. Instead, you get a large canvas, professional studio space, painting materials and four hours to explore your own ideas—with Elliott there to guide you along the way.

Your workshop includes your choice of one large-format canvas:

36" × 36" | 30" × 40" | 24" × 48" Choose the size and shape that speaks to you.

FOUR HOURS TO ACTUALLY PAINT

Large paintings take time. That's why JUST PAINT isn't a quick two-hour painting class. You'll have four uninterrupted hours to build your painting, experiment, layer, change direction, step back, make mistakes and discover where the painting wants to go.

Elliott will work individually with participants throughout the workshop, offering guidance with: Composition, Color, Movement, Layering, Texture, Working at a larger scale, Developing your own ideas, Knowing when to keep going—and when to stop

This is guidance, not instruction-by-numbers. The painting remains yours.

WHO IS JUST PAINT FOR?

JUST PAINT is designed for people who genuinely enjoy creating. You don't need to consider yourself an artist. You don't need formal training. But you should come wanting to paint. It's especially suited for people who paint at home but don't have room to work large, retirees looking for a deeper creative outlet, local creatives wanting dedicated studio time, and visitors who want to experience Asheville through art.

Bring an idea. Bring a photograph. Bring a sketch. Or bring absolutely nothing and start with a blank canvas.

JUST PAINT isn't priced like a traditional painting class because it isn't one. You're receiving a substantial large-format canvas, painting materials, four hours of dedicated studio space and individual guidance from professional artist Elliott From.

Elliott brings more than 30 years of experience in the creative arts and years of experience creating artwork and performing live for audiences and organizations around the world. But JUST PAINT isn't about learning how to paint like Elliott. It's about having Elliott there to help you discover how you want to paint. And at the end of the workshop, the painting goes home with you.
