The Journey of Artbeat Live!
Elliott From | Speed Painter & Live Performance Artist
High-Energy Speed Painting for Corporate Events, Charity Galas, Sporting Events & Live Audiences
Elliott From is a nationally recognized speed painter, performance artist, and live event entertainer known for transforming blank canvases into powerful works of art in a matter of minutes. Through his signature Artbeat Live! speed painting performances, Elliott combines music, movement, color, energy, and storytelling to create an unforgettable live experience for audiences.
Unlike traditional painting, Elliott’s work is meant to be experienced as it happens. Paint flies. Music builds. The image begins to emerge. And within approximately 8–10 minutes, what started as a blank canvas becomes a finished large-scale work of art.
It’s not simply watching an artist paint. It’s a performance.
The Beginning of Artbeat Live!
Elliott’s journey into performance painting began after seeing legendary performance artist Denny Dent perform at a corporate event in Chicago. Already an experienced creative professional and artist, Elliott was fascinated by the idea that painting could become something audiences could experience live.
In 2008, he stepped in front of an audience and performed his first live speed painting, creating portraits of John Lennon and Jimi Hendrix at a local festival.
Something clicked.
Elliott discovered that he loved the energy of performing in front of an audience just as much as he loved creating the artwork itself. That first performance eventually developed into Artbeat Live!, his own distinctive approach to speed painting and live performance art.
Since then, Elliott has performed hundreds of live painting shows for audiences across the United States and beyond.
From the Olympics to Major Sporting Events
Artbeat Live! quickly began attracting the attention of corporations, professional sports organizations, charities, foundations, and event producers looking for something audiences hadn't seen before.
Elliott received international exposure while performing for corporate sponsors during the 2010 Winter Olympic Games.
That same year, he performed during the Chicago Blackhawks' historic Stanley Cup playoff run, creating artwork that was auctioned to benefit Chicago Blackhawks Charities. His performances and paintings were featured across major Chicago television networks including ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, and WGN.
Over the years, Elliott's speed painting performances have appeared at events connected with the Olympic Games, NHL, NFL, NBA, MLB, Kentucky Derby, major corporations, national conferences, private events, and nonprofit organizations.
Every performance is customized around the event, audience, organization, individual, or message being celebrated.
Speed Painting With a Purpose
For Elliott, live painting has always been about more than entertainment.
It has also become a powerful fundraising tool.
For more than 17 years, Elliott has partnered with hundreds of nonprofit organizations and charitable events, creating paintings live on stage that are later sold or auctioned to benefit the organization.
Through these performances and the generosity of collectors and event guests, the sale of Elliott's artwork has helped generate more than $5 million for nonprofit organizations and charitable causes.
“Artbeat Live! isn't just entertainment. It's an opportunity to use something I love—painting—to create excitement, connect people and help organizations make a difference.”
A painting created in just a few minutes can become one of the most memorable moments of an evening—and then continue making an impact when it is sold during a live charity auction.
A Speed Painter for Events That Need Something Different
Whether Elliott is performing for several hundred people at a corporate conference, creating artwork during a charity gala, appearing at a sporting event, or opening a general session with an unexpected visual performance, Artbeat Live! is designed to capture attention.
Performances can be customized for:
Corporate Events & Conferences | Charity Galas & Fundraisers | Live Auctions
Awards Ceremonies | Sporting Events | General Session Openers
Association Meetings | College & University Events | Brand Activations | Private & VIP Events
Subjects can range from iconic portraits and sports figures to company founders, city skylines, logos, cultural icons, inspirational imagery, and completely customized concepts created specifically for the event.
More Than Speed Painting
What makes Elliott's performances distinctive isn't simply how quickly he paints.
It's the experience surrounding the painting.
Each Artbeat Live! performance is choreographed to music and built around movement, anticipation, emotion, and the final reveal. Elliott's expressive approach incorporates energetic brushwork, vivid color, unconventional painting techniques—and occasionally his hands instead of brushes.
The audience gets to watch the entire creative process unfold right in front of them.
And that is exactly the point.
Elliott believes creativity becomes far more interesting when we're willing to abandon the rules, trust our instincts, and see what happens.
“Everything is possible when you're willing to paint outside the box.”
Today, Elliott continues to perform live speed painting and performance art for corporate events, nonprofit fundraisers, sporting events, conferences, and special events while also maintaining his studio practice as a contemporary artist.
After hundreds of performances, millions of dollars raised for charitable organizations, and audiences around the world, the idea behind Artbeat Live! remains remarkably simple:
Start with a blank canvas. Create something unexpected. And give people an experience they won't forget.
